Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 19, 2026 / Last updated: June 19, 2026
CLEARFIELD HOLDINGS LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Kyle's Project," "we," "us," or "our"), operates Kyle's Project (the "Platform"), a two-sided, peer-to-peer online marketplace. The Platform offers two services: rentals, where individuals list trailers, tools, and equipment for others to rent; and hauling, where a user requests transport of an item and a vetted independent operator (a "Hauler") fulfills it. In this Policy, an individual who lists an item for rent is an "Owner," and "Renter" means a user who rents an item or requests hauling. We provide the technology that connects users and processes payment. We are not a party to any rental or hauling transaction, we own no trailers, vehicles, or equipment, and we provide no transportation or insurance.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how and why we use it, when and with whom we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to everyone who uses the Platform, including Owners who list items, Renters who request rentals or hauling, and Haulers. This Privacy Policy is part of, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Service, which set out the operative terms governing your use of the Platform, including fees, security deposits, cancellations, and dispute resolution. By creating an account or using the Platform, you acknowledge the practices described here.
The Platform is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. One account is permitted per person.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information, in each case limited to what we need to operate the Platform and complete transactions between users.
- Account and contact information: Your email address, which is used for our passwordless login (an emailed one-time code). We do not store passwords. You may also choose to provide your name and phone number.
- Listing and request content: Information you submit when you list an item or make a request, including photos, descriptions, prices, pickup and delivery addresses, and dates.
- Hauler verification information: If you operate as a Hauler, we collect your registered trailer types, gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), insurance certificates and their expiration dates, and service areas.
- Location information: Latitude and longitude derived from the addresses you enter, together with map imagery, provided through our mapping service Mapbox. We do not collect continuous or background location from your device.
- Transaction information: Records of bookings and jobs, ratings and reviews, platform fees, tax collected, security deposits, and payment and payout status. Ratings, reviews, and a Hauler's verification status (such as whether insurance is on file and current) and service areas may be visible to relevant users to support trust and safety.
- Messages: The content of in-app messages exchanged between the parties to a booking or job.
- Technical information: Your IP address and browser or user-agent information captured when you submit feedback, and basic page-view logs used for debugging.
- Payment information: Payments and payouts are handled by Stripe. We never see or store full payment card numbers. Stripe processes that information directly under its own terms and privacy policy.
2. How and Why We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide the Platform: To create and authenticate your account through the emailed one-time code, display listings and requests, match Renters with Owners and Haulers, and operate in-app messaging.
- To process transactions: To facilitate bookings and hauling jobs, calculate and collect the platform fee, itemize applicable sales or rental tax at checkout, hold and resolve security deposits, and direct payouts to Owners and Haulers through Stripe. The full fee, deposit, and cancellation terms are set out in our Terms of Service.
- To verify Haulers: To confirm that Haulers hold valid commercial auto and trailer insurance, to keep proof on file, and to track insurance expiration dates and the equipment and service areas associated with each Hauler.
- To support reviews and trust: To publish two-sided ratings and comments after a transaction completes and to review and, where appropriate, remove reviews that are harassing, defamatory, or off-topic.
- To communicate with you: To send transactional email through our email provider Resend, such as login codes, booking and job confirmations, cancellation notices, and other messages necessary to operate your account and transactions.
- To maintain security and resolve disputes: To protect the Platform and its users, prevent fraud and prohibited off-platform or cash dealing, review security-deposit damage claims and the responses to them, and enforce our terms.
- To comply with law and keep records: To meet our legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
3. How We Share Information
We share personal information only as described below. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or use it to serve you third-party advertising.
- With other users to complete a transaction: We share information with the other party to a booking or job only to the extent needed to complete it. For example, the counterparty to a transaction sees the name, contact information, and pickup or delivery address relevant to that specific job, along with listing details and the content of messages exchanged about it. In addition, ratings, reviews, and a Hauler's verification status (such as whether insurance is on file and current) and service areas may be visible to relevant users to support trust and safety.
- With service providers (subprocessors): We use a small set of vendors that process information on our behalf, under contract and only to provide their services to us: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage, including insurance documents and photos); Stripe (payment processing, payouts, and identity and bank verification for payees); Resend (transactional email); Mapbox (address geocoding and maps); and Cloudflare and Vercel (network and hosting).
- For legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information where we believe in good faith it is required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a lawful governmental request, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Kyle's Project, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer: If Kyle's Project is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
4. Payments and Transaction Information
We collect and process transaction information (bookings, fees, taxes, security deposits, and payment and payout status) to operate payments through Stripe, which processes payments and payouts and never gives us full payment card numbers. The full fee, security deposit, and cancellation terms, including how security-deposit damage claims are reviewed, are set out in our Terms of Service.
For clarity about how funds tied to your information are handled: a security deposit, if an Owner sets one, is held by the Platform and is never paid out to the Owner. If the Owner files a damage claim, our review of that claim is an administrative decision about release of the held deposit only. It is not a legal determination of fault or liability, does not limit either party's other rights, and the funds are held in connection with the parties' transaction, to which we are not a party. A security deposit is not insurance and does not replace either party's own insurance.
5. Haulers
Haulers are independent operators and are not employees or agents of Kyle's Project. To operate on the Platform, a Hauler must hold valid commercial auto and trailer insurance and keep proof on file with us, may accept only jobs that can be completed legally and safely with their registered equipment, and must not solicit off-platform business from Platform users. The verification information a Hauler provides is used as described in Sections 1 and 2.
6. Where Information Is Processed
We are based in the United States and process and store information in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you understand your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law.
- Account and transaction data: Kept while your account exists.
- Hauler insurance documents: Retained for the active period plus one year after the documents expire or the Hauler account closes.
- Feedback and related technical logs: Retained for up to two years, whether or not the account is deleted, for debugging and abuse-prevention purposes.
- You may request deletion at any time, as described below. We may retain limited information where necessary to comply with legal or tax obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements, and as otherwise described in Section 9.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. Authentication is passwordless: we issue a one-time code by email and do not store passwords. Payments, payouts, and payee identity and bank verification are handled by Stripe under its own security program, and payment card numbers are never seen or stored by us. Our data, authentication, and file storage run on Supabase, and the Platform is hosted and served through Vercel and Cloudflare. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by applicable law. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the following choices regarding your information:
- Access: You may request a copy of the personal information associated with your account, and we will respond consistent with applicable law.
- Correction: You may update your name, phone number, and listing or request content directly in the Platform. To correct verification information (such as insurance documents) or other records, contact us and we will correct it where appropriate; we may decline or verify changes to protect the integrity of the Platform.
- Deletion: You may delete your own account at any time. When you delete your account we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except (a) transaction, tax, and payout records we or our payment processor Stripe must retain to meet legal, tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations; (b) feedback and related technical logs retained as described in Section 7; and (c) residual copies in routine backups, which are overwritten on our normal backup cycle. Reviews and transaction records that are part of another user's history may remain on the Platform after your account is deleted, de-identified where feasible.
- Communications: The messages we send are transactional and necessary to operate your account and transactions, so they are not subject to unsubscribe. If we ever send optional or promotional messages, they will include a way to opt out. You can end all communications by deleting your account.
- Depending on where you live, residents of certain states or regions may have additional rights regarding their personal information. To exercise any right or to ask a question about these rights, contact us using the information in Section 11, and we will respond consistent with applicable law.
10. Children
The Platform is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it. One account is permitted per person.
11. Changes to This Policy and How to Contact Us
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we handle your personal information, we will provide notice through the Platform or by email before those changes take effect. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically, and we will revise the effective date above when we make changes.
Questions, requests, and privacy concerns may be directed to us at kyle@clearfieldholdings.com.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The binding terms governing dispute resolution, including venue and jurisdiction, are set out in our Terms of Service.
